{"id":1027,"date":"2012-04-27T14:25:00","date_gmt":"2012-04-27T14:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/blog\/index.php\/2012\/04\/27\/credit-manager-solutions-part-1-of-the-series-go-behind-the-scenes\/"},"modified":"2012-04-27T14:25:00","modified_gmt":"2012-04-27T14:25:00","slug":"credit-manager-solutions-part-1-of","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/blog\/2012\/04\/credit-manager-solutions-part-1-of.html","title":{"rendered":"Credit Manager Solutions: Part 1 of the Series: Go Behind the Scenes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">In our line of business, we deal with a lot of credit managers.&nbsp; From large to small companies, each one has a different way of doing things and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/lienitnow.com\/faq.asp\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">ensuring that the company gets paid for the work or materials they provide to a construction site<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">.&nbsp; While <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/lienitnow.com\/\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">placing a mechanics lien or a construction lien on a property<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"> is one way to secure payment, there are several other steps that <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/collections.asp\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">credit managers should follow to keep those accounts receivables down to a manageable level<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">.&nbsp; <\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Over the next couple of posts, we&#8217;ll be looking at ways for credit managers or account managers to maximize their collections potential and become one of the most valuable people in their company.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Go Behind the Scenes or Look Behind the Curtain<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Interpreting creditworthiness from the start is a main goal of a credit manager. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/credit-check.asp\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Running a credit check<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"> on potential customers is important, but what kind of check should be run.&nbsp; The normal reports from Dunn &amp; Bradstreet provide generic, not always useful information. Here are some things that <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/credit-check.asp\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">LienItNow&#8217;s Credit Check<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"> department does that you may want to use yourself.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"*\" height=\"13\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/orange-bullet.gif\" width=\"11\" \/>The length of time the company has been around.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"*\" height=\"13\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/orange-bullet.gif\" width=\"11\" \/>If the company is still filing annual reports with their State of Incorporation.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"*\" height=\"13\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/orange-bullet.gif\" width=\"11\" \/>The company&#8217;s average credit line and hight available credit line<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"*\" height=\"13\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/orange-bullet.gif\" width=\"11\" \/>Average turnaround on paying bills in number of days.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"*\" height=\"13\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/orange-bullet.gif\" width=\"11\" \/>The length of time with the company&#8217;s current bank.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"*\" height=\"13\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lienitnow.com\/orange-bullet.gif\" width=\"11\" \/>How long the company has been doing business with its trade references.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Try checking into those items and you may find yourself spending less time chasing money.&nbsp; Remember, the credit manager&#8217;s job is to&nbsp;be p<em>roactive, <\/em>rather than a<em> <\/em>reactive.
